Most of the trekking gears and equipment are made for personal use. Surely, you would want to carry your own set of clothes but trekking items like sleeping luggage, sleeping mat are optional. Several vendors also offer trekking items on rent. You will get a satisfactory gear on a low budget if you want to save the money and space while trekking in Nepal. Your travel agency or tour guide can also make arrangements for the renting of basic items. The cost is usually low but you will need to put a credible identification document to get the validation for renting. The items are to be handled with the utmost care and damaging them may mean you will have to pay for the item at full cost.

 10. What You Don’t Need to carry while trekking:

  1. Heavy Laptops: You will already be carrying a lot of weight and adding a 2 Kg laptop will only be a trouble for you because you will be trekking most of the time and other time will be spent resting
  2. Cooking Utensils and Stove: As we mentioned earlier, there are a lot of hotels, restaurants, and homestays in the trekking route that offers accommodation and fooding for the travelers. You will not be required to carry equipment to prepare your own food. So don’t make a fool of yourself and carry gas stoves, utensils, and other cooking items.
  3. Makeup: If you are a makeup savvy then hold of your general routine for a while because trekking is not about looking beautiful. Although you may want to take beautiful photos, your natural look will be more than enough especially when you are going in a natural setup. Don’t bother wearing makeup, the sweat will take it all away. Limit the cosmetics to sunscreen, face wash, and other basic creams.
