The divine lake has its name from the Sanskrit words “Manasa” and “Sarovara” meaning “Mind” and “Lake”. Lake Manasarovar is one of the Three Sacred Lakes and regarded as the Mother of Sacred Lake. The afternoons are generally breezy. The nights are very chilling and the temperature drops below 0o Celsius. For Hindus, a circumambulation of Mount Kailash and a dip in the cold waters of Lake Manasarovar removes the sins of all lifetimes, bringing salvation from reincarnation. Along with Hinduism, it is a very sacred spot in the religions of Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism and Tibetan Bonpo as well.

Looking at the history of Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarovar, we can easily conclude that they both have been a major part of many religions since millennia. We have to think that these cultures and religions have trusted the existence and beauty of Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarovar to be unprecedented and omnipotent. Thus it gives us a way to observe these two places with immense respect and admiration. Lastly, I just have to say that whatever the reason may be forgiving Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarovar this kind of importance both religiously and historically, these two places are true wonders of nature without a doubt.
