The valley got its name as the Ruby valley as the Ganesh Himal region has deposits of the Gem Ruby, the red precious stone. The mining was not significant but this whole region has high deposits of other minerals.

 

Located between two popular destinations known as Langtang National Park and Manaslu Conservation Area, Ganesh Himal region is blessed with beautiful terrain, cultural and biological diversity. Trekking to this region suggested for promising a marvelous experience in a lifetime in Nepal. The 13 days trek takes you to the villages of the Tamang and Gurung ethnic groups known for their unique culture and rich traditions. 2015 Massive earthquake damage all trekking trail but these days local villagers and some good NGO and INGO are reconstructing the trekking trail.

 

The trek starts after driving from Kathmandu to SyabruBesi highway. This trek gives one the opportunity to experience the untarnished Tamang and Gurung settlements on the higher altitude, stunning terraced farms and splendid panoramic views of Ganesh Himal and other mountains of Langtang, Manaslu, and Annapurna region. Although not as popular as Everest and Annapurna trekking, Ruby Valley trek is one of the best trekking trails in central Nepal as it passes through Lari pass (4,750 m), and High pass (3,850 m). Along the trail, the trek offers splendid close-up views of Ganesh Himal - the mountain named after the Elephant-headed god Ganesh; Langtang, BoudhaHimal, Hiunchuli and other peaks of central Himalayas. Since this trek is a very new trekking trail in Nepal, lodges and guest houses have not been developed yet so homestay is the mode of accommodation, which allows you to get a first-hand experience of Nepali rural life as you stay with locals which supports the life of people of this region and will also push the area to be grown economically.

 

More to this, the Lari top is another superb viewpoint for the massif Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, LangtangLirung, and LamjungHimal. Besides the massive mountains, there's so much to see and traverse like the holy lakes; Ganesh Kunda, ParvatiKunda and Seto and Kale lakes and places of worships; Hindu temples, Buddhist monasteries. Best Season for Ruby Valley Trek

DAY 02: Kathmandu city tour  ( Monkey temple, Pashupatinath temple, Buddhanath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar square)

DAY 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1600m/5248ft).

DAY 04: Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2340m/7675ft) (5-6 hrs Trek)

DAY 05: Gatlang to Somdang [3280m/10758ft] [6-7 hrs Trek].

DAY 06: Trek to Tipling (2080m/6822ft)(6-7 hrs Trek) via
Pasang La Pass (3842m/12601ft)

DAY 07: Tipling village to Shertung (1875m/6150ft) (5-6 hrs Trek)..DAY 08: walk to Tatopani natural Hot Springs [approximate 2 hours ] & trek to Chalish Gaon (1640m/5379ft)- 5 hrs

DAY 09: Trek to Jharlang (3020m/9905ft) – 6h.

DAY 10: Trek from Jharlang to Darkha Gaon (850m/2788ft) (7 hrs Trek).

DAY 11: Trek to Darkha Phedi [1349m/4424ft] [1 hr Trek] than
Drive to Dhading Besi and drive to Kathmandu [7-8 hrs Drive]

DAY 12: Leisure day at Kathmandu,

DAY 13: Final Departure.
